Who is eligible to vote?
You can vote once in the City of Saskatoon municipal election if, on Election Day (November 9, 2020) you
(a) are a Canadian citizen
(b) are at least 18 years old
(c) have resided in the Province of Saskatchewan for at least six consecutive months immediately preceding Election Day and
(i) have resided in the City of Saskatoon, or on land now in the city, for at least three consecutive months immediately preceding Election Day OR
(ii) are the owner of assessable land in the City of Saskatoon, or on land now situated in the city, for at least three consecutive months immediately preceding Election Day
If you live outside Saskatoon but own assessable land in Saskatoon for at least three consecutive months immediately preceding the day of the election, you can vote for mayor and ward councillor only. If you own land in more than one ward you can vote only in the ward where the property has the highest assessment. In this case you must obtain a certificate from the municipal assessor stating in which ward you are entitled to vote then present the certificate to the deputy returning officer when registering to vote at your dedicated polling location.
